William's Blog...with a smile!

The polar vortex is upon us.

Well, per scientist the polar vortex  is here.

And it is here to stay in a way.

Scientists say we should get used to these temps.

Makes me wonder about the global warming then.

Who should we believe?

The scientists who can't predict yesterday's weather...Or...

Al Gore?

I guess it is a flip of the coin.

My son lives in Chicago & its expected to be below zero thru Friday. Supposed to get down to -15 later tonight & then highs on Wednesday of only -10 to -15. I can't even imagine that type of cold.

A good day to stay inside and enjoy the warmth.  If you don't need to venture out, it's best to stay inside.

To understand what is going on with global warming and the polar vortex, think of it this way.  The polar ice caps are melting.  They temporarily cool the waters as the icy water is free to move more south.  That causes temps to plummet in certain areas.  But, like ice that is put in your drink to cool it, once that ice melts, your drink warms.  And, in the case of the Earth, who is going to put in the new ice cubes to cool it once again???

Nicely put Myrl Jeffcoat It's understandable that people question global warming on days like these, but the fact is that climate and weather are two different things. I like your easy to understand explanation. (Right now just wishing it wasn't so darn cold though). :)

The polar vortex is actually a result of global warming in the Arctic.
