One of the worst things invented was the answering service.

You know, where you  are greeted by a phony voice.

Then  you are instructed to listen to options.

Then y ou can hopefully pick the right one for you

only to be put on hold for an extended time.

 

Meanwhile the operator is most likely sitting right there filing her nails!

 

Sorry, this started out as a bit of humor...

here is a question Bill, how many times to you get a message left on your phone answering machine and it says..."please press one for..." 

I now hate this more than all the other garbage  :)

I detest this as well - I especially loathe the interactive voice systems where I have to talk to a computer to receive any form of service!

Just the other day I was put into one of those systems.  Once finally making it to what I hoped would be a live person, the line went dead!

Totally agree. While I understand the importance of robo-answering services, I much prefer a person.

HI William Feela - All I can say is don't get me started...Just had a major issue with Suddenlink.  6 calls in one day for internet AND cable.  YIKES!

Hi Bill,  These answering services may be useful to accomplish simple phone tasks, but when you really need to talk to someone to solve a problem, it takes an awfully long time.

I personally hate this type of answering service.   I wil take my business to any store that doesn't have this system!!!

Good morning William - sometimes it is downright hilarious.  I love the fact that almost all start with please listen carefully because our options have changed.  Haven't made them any better.
