Farm kids made their own fun...

Us farm kids made our own fun.

Granted that was  ____  years ago!

When chores were done we disappeared.  If we didn't MOM would find something for us to do.

WE didn't have money to buy the things many city kids had, like a scooter.

But we did have sling shots and other cool stuff.

I guess what I am getting at, we had imaginations.

If you feel your kids need to expand their horizon's...Check out the farm scene.

No, it may not be glamorous but we did learn a lot!!!

And we did find things to ride...

Hi William,
We had a lot of fun as kids.  All the neighborhood kids would get together and play ball or hide-and-seek, or a multitude of other games.  We also lived close to the school yard so we could go there and play on the playground equiment.  In a way, I feel sorry for the kids that feel the need to be entertained electronically and by the TV.

Very cute William Feela - I will never forget my first trip to a farm. I never had so much fun! But it did smell funny!

My dad was a farm kid.  He often reminisced about stealing a watermelon from a neighboring farm, and tossing it into the canal, to make the trip to the family farm, and having it cold from the waters when it reached home!

Before cell phones and video games we played outside and used our imaginations to explore and learn about nature. Kids today don't know half of what we do about the outdoors.

Morning William.

The most memorable time was when we owned a 179 acre spread in Russellville, Arkansas.  I was an only child and had to come up with inventive ways to have fun.

There is nothing like the farm.  It was a hard life but it was also a ver y satisfying life.

The days are gone when kids just run around and play all day long.  I remember my brother and I would roam the hills all day long with neighbor friends.

We spent most of our free time in the woods surrounding my Grandfather's house when I was a kid.
