I was being watched...very closely

Fishing is not always about the fish.

Last weekend while on the water I hit a backwater area.

These can be very productive at times.

I was casting a few times when I heard some noise behind me.

I looked and here watching me very closely was a family of otters.

I had fished this spot dozens of times and this is the first encounter with this family.

I then just slowly moved out of the area.  I didn't want to rile them as they have been know to join you in the boat!

That type of fishing would hold no interest for me. I think I will stick to baseball as my passtime.

Good morning, William Feela I hope you never fall into that water.... it looks about as unhealthy as a body of water could be without being called swampy....

Good morning William Feela don't think I've ever seen otters up close and personal outside of a zoo... but also have to agree with Barbara Todaro's comment as to how that water looks.

That would have been interesting, and I think I would have backed up to give them some space as well.

I think otters are among the cuttest, most entertaining critters on the planet.

Hi William.
Great picture of the otter family.  Will be interesting if you see them again if you go back there... or if they were just passing through.

Maybe they thought you were the food delivery man for the fish they ordered.

Morning William.

They were just waiting for you to do all the work, I suspect they were going to raid your stringer for a free meal
