Spring is here, please watch standing water

Spring is here and the snow is melting.

But standing water can be a real danger.

Kids and animals may think the water is shallow but be on top of the ice

They can break through and lose their life in deeper waters.

This happens every year.

Please let us break the cycle.

Morning William.

It's raining as I'm typing this out.  Good reminder for those where the snow and ice are still around.

Wow William Feela! Had never given this much thought as I don't live where this could be an issue. Makes me happy that it's not something I need to deal with.

Good morning William Feela,

Definitely can see where this could be an issue where you live. Good shout and hope people heed your warning.

Good morning William. This is a problem here too. We have ice jamming and our mud season too.

Especially kids.  Love to play in the water and it being on top of ice doesn't phase them.

Hello William,  Good point that I never figure on but you would know more about that.

While we don't usually have that danger here in Sacramento, we do have concerns about standing water, because that's where mosquitoes breed.  Mosquitoes have killed more humans, than all the wars of mankind put together.

Not something we have to contend with here, but I can certainly see the dangers in that my friend.

William, our lakes never really iced over, it was a very mild winter, but last night we saw some much needed snow!

This is timely advice to share.

We have an icy morning in Maryland as a major winter storm approaches the area.

Good reminder, sad to hear that so many suffer from this where common sense should prevail.
