Search only Legit sites...

I got a call tonight about a property on the market.

As I talked with he caller I was searching.

And I searched and searched.

Finally, not finding the listing I asked what site they had found the listing.

zillow.

Well, I then searched in a new direction and in a minute I found the listing...

SOLD  over a year before!

I explained to the caller that the home was sold over a year ago.

The caller did not want to believe me.

The conversation went on for a few more minutes and we connected and will re-connect early net week.

If you are looking for a home and want to search yourself, search on a REAL Real Estate site.

Whispering Pines Realty, (Mine) or C 21, KW, Cold Well Banks and a host of others.

zillow is NOT a professional site.

Real Real Estate agents do not charge you for searching for you.

Give us a try and you wont have your dream home disappear before you even see it!

William Feela

The property may not have been for sale but it got you a potential client and showed that you were the expert!

Good morning, William Feela I think you made a score getting a buyer call....you should hope for that everyday.... if they call another real estate office, the agent may close them and you won't have the opportunity to speak to them...

Morning William.

That is a sad fact about z, they don't update their site, causing people to believe homes are still on the market long after they have sold

Good morning William. I have also found that in the days when I advertised in the print world, nothing was ever purged and sometimes I got calls five years later. Point well made.

I have had many people reach out to me as a result of finding a homes for sale on various sites that were not really not the market but the sites had not updated. I am usually happy that I at least get a chance to speak with them and of course point out my site as a place to search for their next home.

If you are not dealing with professionals you are going the long way around.

While you may have actually scored a client from that call, it would be great if some of these sites did a better job of updating their info, to differentiate between active, pending and sold listings.

Been there ... many times. My own clients have done that despite the fact that I ask them to use the MLS search portal I set up for them.

William Feela I can't count the number of times this has happened to me with Zillow or Trulia errors...so frustrating!

Good morning, William Feela I always knew there was a reason for the Zillows of this world to exist. Seriously though, some of the Zillow issue stems from the fact that an agent somewhere who listed that home did not update status... Zillow doesn't know unless agents update status.
