It is not hard to be decent...

I was in a store the other day.

There was a middle aged lady screaming at a very young man who was stocking shelves.

I listened in as the young man tried to explain to her why things could not go her way and that he had no control, he was just a lowly stocker.


But the woman continued to berate him.

Finally I had had enough.

I stepped in and told the lady I heard her side of the story.

I also heard and understood they Young mans story.


She started in and i stopped her.

"Ma'am,, Have you ever stocked shelves before?"



Well, then before you yell at someone who is doing this job you should walk a few miles in their shoes.

I continued...Also, there is absolutely no reason to yell at this young man.

You are in the wrong any way you look at it and if this was my place of business I would throw you out and tell you not to come back!


She finally turned and headed down the isle.

I complimented the young man for not losing his cool. (  I did that for him).

I also told the manager what had happened and how well his employee did with the situation.


You get more fly's with homey.   No need to get mean!!!

I will not stand by and let people yell at the help that are trying to do what they can for you.    I will step in and let you know that everytime!

Good for you, William Feela .  We should always treat people we meet each day with respect, say please and thank you to anyone who does a service for us, and be sure to recognize good behavior to those who may make a difference.

I'm so glad to hear you did that William Feela ... and that young man showed a lot of patience and maturity.. I think I would have done the same thing.. no need for a cutomer to be yelling at the employees...

Well done Will. You definitely did the right thing by injecting common sense into the situation. Some people just stand by & stare while others stand up for what's right. Kudos to you for standing up!

Rude seems to be an acceptable form of communication these days William Feela and it is not acceptable.  I am sure that young man and his employer appreciated your intercedence with that nasty woman.

I am really glad you spoke with the manager to provide a version of the event in order to combat any version that unkind lady may have provided.
