Life before the computer...

We have all experienced the frustration of this site not working right.

It was slow if you could work it at all.

Whenever had that issue with pen and paper.

But do you remember what life was like BEFORE the computer?

Here is a little reminder of what it was like...

Funny how the primary meaning of words can change. I was around before the computer! I remember in high school, "computer" class was held in a room with a large computer with key punch cards. We wrote programs that would, for example, add two numbers and you had to prepare about 50 cards and run them in the right order. It was a fun class, but nothing like the technology that is now in phones!

William, it was pretty frustrating earlier this week when the site was too slow.  Had to come back late in the day.

Good one William.  It sure seems like it was a much simpler time.  Hard to remember though.

Love that, William. The floppies are long gone and now replaced with clouds and travel sticks.

It is interesting how computers have shifted the lexicon.  I'm also smiling at Debbie Reynolds comment #11.  I always thought floppies could be banished with a good bra!

Since I grew up in the age of slide rules and manual adding machines I appreciate this.

Haha. Right on, William. It's funny, when I write out my thank you notes, it takes a moment for my hands, and my mind, to switch gears to writing cursive again. It doesn't take long to get spoiled. D
