Are you prepared to travel in the cold?

Many people still are or will be traveling during this cold spell.

While I am wearing a medium coat and working outside, manyare freezing

at 45 degrees.

Those traveling in the colder regions need to prepare for the worst.

Windchill is the worst enemy in the cold.

If you have a car problem, stay in the car!

If you are on a less traveled road, make sure someone knows the road you will be on and when you should arrive.

Blankets and food and water can increase your chances of survival  if stuck for an extended periods of time.

There are many items to also have with you.

disposable hand and body warmers

matches

flashlight's

Additional clothing

A NEED HELP  sign

and a lot m ore.

Just stop and think about your travels.

Think about the weather and the roads being traveled.

Then plan accordingly.

Please Be safe!!!

Great tips... my best tip for myself is not to travel where it's cold when it's cold. (One reason I did move to the south! )

Good morning William. Did not pay much attention to such warnings while living in Florida. Now back in Chicago, where it is below zero today, a whole different appreciation. Thanks. Enjoy your day!

William,

I remember those very cold Minnesota mornings.  When I was at the U in Mpls, I wore so many layers, used the tunnels to get to class, and was still cold.  Great advice from you.  A

I remember as a small child we got stuck in the snow and we were really stuck. It was scary and we had no blankets or flashlights. If you live in an area where that can happen, you need to be prepared.
