My final prep for opening of Deer Season here in Minnesota is done.
The Deer Stands have been checked for safety.
Target practice confirms the accuracy of my rifle.
Trail camera's tell me there is deer activity around my stands.
My hunting clothes are ready as is my back pack.
Snacks and water. Don't need a lunch, I am only 400 yards fro the house.
This is the part I will miss the most.
My drive up to mom and dad's.
The 1/2 mile walk to my stand in the dead of darkness.
The coming in from hunting to find out who was fortunate enough to have harvested a deer.
Listening to the success and the mishaps.
And seeing everyone is safe and hunted that way.
Yes, I am going to miss that.
And once more I will await the rising of the sun. (Maybe behind some clouds!)
