What are SMART sellers doing on a Sunday?

This is really a simple question to answer.

 

There are  2 types of sellers.

Those who have already listed their home for sale and those that are going to list.

 

The sellers on the market already are getting ready for the showings that will happen this week.   (some will happen today)

These sellers are picking up and straightening out the home.  Washing windows and mirrors. Vacuuming  and washing floors. They will clean the refrigerator (Yes buyers will look in there).  A bad odor will turn a buyer off to a  home

These sellers will also be fixing any minor issue they see so they will be ready for a buyers inspection when they get an offer.

 

Now the sellers to be...They  will be getting rid of stuff they don't need.  De-clutter is the name of the game.

Making sure that the home is inviting.  They will be addressing the issues that need to be fixed and maybe painted. Heavy duty cleaning needs to be  done.  Buyers look everywhere.  These sellers need to be getting into the habit of making sure not one thing is out of place when they walk out the door.

There is also the outside curb appeal.  Grass cut and trimmed.   Shrubs trimmed and some flowers in front even if in pots.

 

As agents know, buyers can and are a finicky bunch.  Not sure what else to do?  Go for a drive around the block and look at your home as if you  were buying.  Walk into your home like it is the first time and think what you would have done if you were to buy it.

 

Selling a home is a lot more than just putting up a sign.  It is a lot of work also!

It's definitely hard for some sellers to take an objective look at their home. If they can't do so, they should have some friends come over and give their honest opinion.
