A forgotten Meaning...

Memorial Day.

A holiday to give us a 3 day weekend.

I hear this much more than...A Day in which to honor our fallen hero's who gave all they had for the rest of us.

As a person who's family has paid this sacrifice so may times over the different wars and conflicts, I for one am saddened.

It seems that all around us  the meaning is touched lightly on and then if goes into a full blown holiday of fun.

OK, I won't kill your fun, but PLEASE, take 5 minutes to thank those that gave you this day with their lives.

Very good reminder post. The actual reason for the holiday does seem to be forgotten in the celebration of a day off work, camping and bbqs. -Kasey

Memorial Day is far more than just day of barbeques and an extra day off.  It's important that we remember that some paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we enjoy.

Sadly, you are right.  You don't hear much about the honoring of our hero's

Yes Bill, it is important to remember that it is about much more most people know.
