William's Blog...with a smile!

What has social Media done to us?

I am not a big fan of social media.

The misuse is so rampant.

Today I saw something that repulsed me past anything I have ever seen.

There was a terrorist shooting in London.

The camera's were rolling from some source. (Doesn't matter what source)

It showed a person laying on the ground and another person running up to them.

I expected the person to kneel down and help this person.

NO!  They took out a CELL PHONE and took a picture NEVER lending a hand.

If this is what social media has come to I want NOTHING to do with it!!!!!!!!!!

William Feela - I think this world is filled with many compassionate, caring, beautiful individuals that utilize social media and perhaps a few careless ones that do too.  One cannot place blame upon a particular media stream for the expressions of the users.

Not a big fan of social media either, Bill. After reading this, I'm almost sorry I did. Really, how terrible.

Helping someone who is hurt certainly outweighs the need to publish a picture! Hopefully they were documenting the person who got hurt's injuries for a bigger purpose and not just wanting something morbid to post...

I read this bit of news prior to our Noon Yoga class.  When social media arrived the doors of the asylum became wide open.  A

Good evening Bill,

It is I gotta be the first to show the sensationalism! Taken from our modern media!

Make yourself an astonishing day.

You make a strong point, William!  I get a little tired of watching folks fly across the country to visit loved ones face to face, only to take out their cellphones and silently sit among family and friends, while they text those they left behind in the etherworld.

Isn't there a law in our country that you must give aide if someone needs it?

What a sad thing to see William.  I agree with you that social media has gone too far in many cases.

Unfortunate Bill, I doubt that the world has got any worse, we just get a front row seat with all the cameras and media these days.
