This scenario just went down this week.
It happened to an agent I know fairly well and respect.
He wrote an offer on a home, a very very good offer.
But, he had not gotten a pre-qual letter like he said he would..."I will get it tomorrow and you can send it to the listing agent." was his response.
He lost out on the offer. I over heard two other agents talking and I know that one was the listing agent. I heard the offer amount and it was less than my friends clients offer.
The seller had rejected him because he had no confidence that the seller could perform.
