William's Blog...with a smile!

Not everyone is watching the game!

I have had 3 new calls today.

When I asked about the game, 2 said what game and one said he did like football.

All had tried at least one other agent before they called me.

I know we need some down time, but, I am glad I took the calls and even more glad the other agents did not!

To each his own, but I am still answering my phone.

Yes, I realize I just used this in another blog, but it is still          funny to me!

You must be doing something right to get 3 calls on a Sunday!

We can look at the date and time stamps on blogs and comments to tell who is watching the big game!

Not watching the Super Bowl . . . . Other things to do.

Good luck and success.

Superbowl Sunday is one day the phone doesn't ring...Here in Texas, the Superbowl is on...even if the Cowboys aren't in the game!

I answer my phone as much as possible, and I have had comments from perspective clients also about how they called other agents but never got a call back.. Being responsive definitely has rewards...

Good morning William. Good insight and hope these three turn into closings for you.

The day we become professional, is the day we design our business around our lives, not the other way around.  All of us should think hard about what is important, and what is not.  When I have established family/down time, it is scheduled; and, nothing short of a true emergency will interrupt it.  When I have scheduled work time, the non-work items are deferred until their appropriate time.  In English - if I am off the clock, your message will be returned at the next appropriate work time.  My company works for me, not the other way around; and, I expect every one of my agents to do the same.  And by the way - there have been many times in my career that I chose to work a holiday when I did NOT have a family obligation, and it can pay off.  Take-away?  Don't feel guilty about turning off the phone for some needed quality time.  Otherwise, you become one of the many bitter "old" brokers we consistently hear complaining.

Yes, this was funny enough for two posts Bill, congrats on being the agent who answered the calls and got the business.
