Secrets of Success from Sam the Banana Man

Bob has brought to light a great story. Although I have yet to read it it is on my list as my next read and I don't read many books.   Check it out and I think you will agree that it is an interesting read...

The Fish that swallowed the Whale, Sam the Banana Man.bananas

Recently I finished reading a story about a great man who built and empire out of ripe bananas that the big guys thought of as garbage.  He went on to command the largest fruit company in history while creating and toppling several governments and bringing great jobs to many in poverty stricken Central America.

I would recommend reading the book, and as a preview take a look at the article below written my the books author.

Check out the WSJ article below to learn about 5 lessons that Sam leaves us with.  Then go read the book, you will be glad that you did.

Five Lessons From the Banana Man

Don't trust the experts, go see the jungle for yourself and other business lessons from a produce king

1. Go see for yourself.

2. Don't try to be smarter than the problem.

3. Don't trust the experts.

4. Money can be made again, but a lost reputation is gone forever.

5. When in doubt, do something!
