William's Blog...with a smile!

It is Mamma and baby

I went to check on the loon on her nest.

This is what I found....

It is an empty nesting site.

So, I went on a search and about 30 yards I see them...

Mom was having no time for me and my camera.

But, there had been 2 eggs and only on chick.  The nest was empty...I wonder where number two is or was it dinner for something else...

Thankfully at least one of her babies made it.  I know it is all part of nature and all ... yet I still don't like it

Now that's an "awww" moment.  Very nice photo.

Maybe chick #2 was diving under the water?

William

Mamma and the baby are out for a little R & R swim.

Good luck and success.

William Feela  Thanks for sharing some great pictures.  1 out of 2 nature can be cruel.

That is so neat. We don't have loons in my area. I love your picture.

Good morning William.  At least one made it, I suspect the second one was a dinner or snack for a fish

Good Morning William - maybe the other one is lagging behind.  Hopefully not dinner.

Thanks for the update...I do know that loons do not have many young at all.

That is neat, they are away from the nest and having a very nice swim together!  I hope that your day is being enjoyed my friend!

Hate when you see that. Count 7 one day & then 6 the next.
