I am talking with a client and my phone beeps.
Another caller.
They leave a message and I call them back in a few minutes.
I get the reply form the person on the other end..."Oh, we already called someone else."
I know that we are in an instant gratification world, but if you really want an agent to work hard for you, you need to have a little patience.
Giving me a few minutes to call back is not only courtesy, but it may take me a few minutes to get the info you wanted.
William,
I notice you didn't say "common courtesy" as courtesy isn't as common as it used to be. Sorry this happened, their loss.
Good morning William. Instant gratification is alive and well, sadly common courtesy has left the building.
Hi William. Unfortunately this happens much too often. And, some foks continue to call every number they run across on the Internet with little research.
Good morning William. Wow. I would say you are lucky that these folks moved on.
It's the nature of the beast sadly. Happens all the time in this business. Which is why I try to answer my phone as often as I can because they could all be a great opportunities. I also know there are time when I couldn't answer or was occupied and the same thing has happened.
I wonder how many of these people actually buy. But, I just keep answering as much as possible
It is crazy how little patience some people have and at times, we get to be the lucky one's that answer our phones at the right time.
William
We have to be with the person that we're with . . . . If we're expecting an IMPORTANT call let the customer know that the call may come. Ask there permission before the call comes in . . . . and if it would be OK to take the important call.
Taking the call without permission would be rude.
Good luck and success.

That's a shame, Bill. I know how you feel. I work hard and always answer my phone when possible. If I'm on the other line or with a client...I won't answer. That is the courtesy I give to others. I wish that callers would think about that.
So very true William, patience and most people that try and pull that line so quickly had someone else before they called you. They may have been calling you for information, so mo worries
Sadly, you will not always be given even a few minutes to return a call.
Have a great Saturday and a wonderful weekend.
William as far as I am concerned it is their loss, good riddance I would not want to work with people like that, I am a Realtor and no where does it say McDonald's real estate ....Endre
William Feela Sometimes you gain more by NOT taking on an impatient client. Time to say NEXT !
I am always amazed at the number of people who hire a professional based on who is available to answer the phone rather than actually working.
