Do we have to make the m famous?

Another mass shooting.

My heart goes out to the victims and families.

But my question is do we have to make the shooter famous.

I have hear this guys name more than even any of the Presidential candidates.

The media gave the name early on.  No stop using it

Call him the gun man or the murderer or what ever, but quit using the name.

Others have said it before that they hoped to be like so and so, famous for the Killings they did.

Making this guy a household name has NO value.

So stop it!!!!

Using the gunman's name serves no purpose but to make him famous.  Calling him something else, everyone will know who we are talking about.

Again my prayers fo out to the families and victims

"They" want to make this POS a martyr.  The more they show his face, his name, etc. the more likely it is that others will want to emulate him.

BTW, arrest this guy's father, who is also a terrorist.

Hi William Feela ,  I agree,  We don't need to tell everyone who he is.  We don't care what his name is.  I don't!  I think gunman is good.  Even calling him a terrorist is making a point.

They should treat him the same way they cover the people that rush onto sports fields, not at all.

Agreed.  If these horrible acts received no publicity at all there wouldn't be any motivation for them to happen.

Good morning William.  I totally agree, it just makes no sense to me.  The media is just looking for a headline

That makes sense and for the same reason that the cameras don't show streakers running onto the court at a basketball game, which happened in Cleveland for game 4.  Of course the footage still gets out by people posting it to Twitter and such.

I agree...it was after the the killingw out east (Sandyhook?) the media said they would stop giving the name...that promise did not last very long.

Why even cover the shooting 24/7. Makes the public even more fearful.  It's like the media is complicit in the terrorism when they won't just report the story and move on.

Agreed call him a murderer, exactly what he was.

William

I would not use the name or photo of the terrorist . . . . in any media.

Good luck and success.

I do my best to avoid the media, it seems like everytime there is a tragedy most of the look at is a chance for career advancement and overtime.

Hi Bill... you are so right about this... don't speak his name and don't post his picture either. But certainly no need to keep doing it 24/7.
