William's Blog...with a smile!

I cursed under my breath...

I was doing some repair on a play house in our yard.

We have it for the grand kids.

I started working on a new floor covering.

I measured and measured and measured again.

Then I cut and...I still got it wrong.

Not sure what I did wrong.  I cursed under my breath...(My grand daughter was within earshot.)

I then assessed the situation, laid out a plan and spliced the flooring together.

Just like when an issue comes up in Real Estate...I do my best to contain my frustration, assess the issue and then fix it.

That is part of what my clients want from me.

That is a great analogy, I'm glad you were able to aplice the floor together.

I don't think they ever see our frustration when and if it occurs.

Yep, just like Real Estate, sometimes you have to step back and make a plan to fix the situation.

And it's probably just as good to not let the clients here the cursing either.

I am always relieved when I am not within earshot of my clients when my frustration level rises like that. I try very hard not to let them catch on to how I am feeling. And I am equally relieved and somewhat amazed when they will remark about how calm I have been through a transaction.

Always best to curse UNDER your breath! And then to re-assess the situation and start again with a new and improved adjusted plan!

Good morning again William. You are right, the best preparation in the world doesn't always matter and making better is what we do.

A wonderful analogy, Bill... and hopefully you don't curse under your breath anywhere near your clients! Stuff happens... it's how we address the fixing in the end.

Good morning William,

Just when you want to scream you have to put on the better front.

Make yourself an astonishing day.

Poker face when ever possible.  I also helps me keep my cool

I've had a couple events similar to that lately, William!  Sometimes I'm good with the poker face, and sometimes I'm not!
