And they were sitting next to each other...

My wife and I just shook our heads.

The family of 5 were all sitting at the table with a phone in their hands.

They were texting each other.

An how do I know???

Because they kept telling each other that they misspelled a word.

They should have stayed home and ordered a pizza

That is the way of the world these days William. I shake my head too.

I actually saw this the other day.   A large family in a restaurant, everyone had their face glued to a cell phone.  Once in a while they would grunt to the brother or sister that was sitting next to them.

maybe the mother was actually happy that they weren't fighting with each other!

Yes Bill, unfortunately this scene is so very common these days.  A different world than we grew up with.

I don't get it...it costs a few dollars to have all the trexting and they waste it on stuff like that

I once went out to dinner with a family of four I was representing.  Mom and Dad couldn't keep their noses out of their phones.  Their kids had their faces in iPads.  I said something and the wife at least decided to talk with me.  Nothing like feeling lonely when you are out with people.
