For me, Spring in Minnesota starts when I hear my first loons.
Today...I heard my first loon. It is a beautiful sound in my book.
The common loon is Minnesota's state bird.
They are sometimes a mystical bird and their call is haunting at times.
But, still, it is a beautiful sound and I know spring is here.
Hello William Feela
What a pretty photo. I wouldn't know a loon call if I heard one...but I know some looney birds!
William
The ducks are back Minnesota . . . . is a sure sign of spring
Good luck and success.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a Loon William. I know spring is here because the pink dogwoods are blooming.
All I know about loons is... I'm as crazy as one. But, are they really crazy? I mean, how crazy is a loon anyway? Does that mean I'm not really crazy? Well, I think I just answered my own question, the last one that is.
Anyway...
I knew spring was here when I heard the peepers!
Happy Spring!
Bill, thanks for sharing this sign and sound of spring. A welcome sight I'm sure. I'm sharing it with my wife as well - she likes loons, too.
I am with you William, Spring is (almost) here
Good morning William. Yes sir Spring is in full form here. Just wonder weather, a good time to go play 18 and I think that is just what I'll do Sunday afternoon
Hi William. Spring has sprung around here too. The lawn was mowed this week.
Good morning William. I hope you have a wonderful spring.
Good morning WilliamI think you are lucky to have the loons and I too love the sounds they make.
Happy Spring to you Bill. We are finally putting the garden in today. By WE, I mean my husband is doing the majority of the labor and I shall supervise!
Bill, I am with you, the sound of the loon is one of my favorites also
