Active Rain Fantasy Baseball predictions...

As the Commissioner of the league I have just a few duties.

Basically setting up the league with teams and saying OK or NO to trades.

On a personal side of this I like to try and guess who will take the gold trophy.

So here are my picks...

1St place...Tinkers2Evers2Chance.  2 nd place last year Mel was crowding the winner at the end.  Also was in 1st place part of the year.  A decent draft and an eye on the waiver list he will be tough again this year to keep up with.

2nd place...Brewster 9.  Although Doug finished in 8th last year, a tough draft and injuries kept him out of the running.  But, in now way did it keep him from competing and getting the best position at the end he could. He will be in the mix this year.

3 rd place...The good guys. Always a tough competitor Marie is most always in the mix to the end.  An ok draft for this year will bode well if she can pick up a couple of key players early in the season.  Don't be surprised if you see her in 1 st at the end.

4 th Place...Our current champ.  J.D. play a great game last year.  It was hard fought but he stayed on top of things.  He will encounter some tough competition this year but don't count him out as the first back to back winner of this league.

5 th place...Grand Theft Votto.  LOOK OUT!  One of our new teams and Joan has taken to the pre-season set up very fast.  If she stays on top of her lineup she could be our first lady to win this league.

6th Place...Minnesota Rain...( your's Truly)  Injuries plagued me in the later part of the season last year,  So I landed in 3rd place.   A moderately decent draft, but many of the my roster have a history of injuries...If the stay healthy I could crawl up a few notches.

7th Place... Yankees RULE.  Our very own Kerrie is back with us.  A devout Yankee lover and supporter she has usually filled her team with the Yanks.  Usually on or near the bottom because of her devotion to her Job with AR, I see her rising this year because of being at home and having some extra time to keep a closer watch on her team.

8th Place...Mary's Team...I feel Mary had a tough draft, but is she can pick up a few better players and stay healthy whe will improve over this placement.

9th place...Team of Real Man...Bob had a great draft.  AS a true Newbie and admits to not really knowing any of the professional players, is the only reason I have him this low.  If Bob watches his team closely a top 4 finish is not out of the question.

10th place...Nutty Buzz...An ok draft and not knowing how well she knows baseball is the only reason for the low placement.

11th Place...Wanda's Swag Team...A good draft but some players that seam to get hurt a lot is part of the reason for being on the bottom.  For myself not knowing how much she follows the game is the only other reason for the low placement.

This is my guess for this year.  Yes there are a few favorites but DO NOT count out the bottom 5 places this year.  Anyone of them could be on the top with just a little effort every day.

I invite others to put up their picks for the year.

Just a footnote.  The first year I played I was on or near the bottom of the standings at the All Star Break and came back to win the league on the last day.  So, DO NOT GIVE UP!

Sounds like a fun league and I am sure you run it well.  I have never played fantasy baseball.  I enjoy watching baseball, but I don't keep track of everything well enough.  Go Dbacks!!!
