My wife and I are ready for the loons.
Their mournful cries as a sign of peace.
They are a cool bird and you have to be very slow and quiet to approach them.
This one is sitting on the nest...but she was watching me closely.
2nd year on this nest, I am looking forward to seeing her there this coming May.
A beautiful bird and hope you can get pictures of any of her babies! Do they migrate south?
While reading your title line, but before reading and viewing the picture, I was fairly certain the loons you were talking about were running for the presidency.
CONGRATULATIONS on having this blog FEATURED in the PHOTOS group!
What a great opportunity to enjoy nature. I would love to hear the loons
I miss the Loons of MN William Feela but the geese are returning here and just tonight I saw a pair of robins.
William
The loons will soon be migrating back to Minnesota.
Good luck and success.

Hi, Bill and what a great shot. That bird almost looks fake. The detail and clarity of your picture are amazing. I'm looking forward to some more loon pictures from you and hopefully some great fishing pictures, too.
I have never seen a Loon before.... so that is what they look like.
Good morning William. I thought you were going to talk about another type of loon, we have them everywhere, all year round.. :)
Many of us are anxious for spring weather. Have an outstanding week.
Good morning William. This picture is incredible! Hard to believe the bird is real.
Bill, This photo shows that with good equipment you don't need a professional photographer to take your house photo's
Yes Bill, those Loons are pretty special to Sally Crane and I too. We had the pleasure of watching On Golden Pond last week and it was nice seeing all the loons in the movie.
What a pretty photo William, the Loons are stunning.
