William's Blog...with a smile!

So You plan on building a home this year...

Planning on building a new home is fun and can be stressful.

There is a lot of work to be done even before you get the permit.

Unless you are taking a plan from a builder and not making changes you need to start now..

Many builders are already filling their schedules so, get a move.

First off, you need to get qualified for a construction loan and permanent loan.

You also need to know if you need to sell your home before you build.

You need to pick a builder.

Pick a plan and start working on tweaking it to your liking or start from scratch.

Where are you planning on building the home.   Do you need to buy a lot also or build on one you already own.

There are permits.

Maybe wells and septics

Road access and driveways.

As you can see there are many issue to work on.

If you start now you can expect it to take as much as 2-3 months to get started.

So, stop talking and get working at it, or you may be waiting until next year.

It can take several months and into next summer to complete your project...So you also need to have some patience.

New builders have been steadily building for about three years all around my area. In another few years there won't be any lots left to build on!

Good morning William.  Not many would take on that project, so why buy a home without professional help.

Certainly a lot to think about when starting a project like this, best to hire someone who has a bit of experience.
