William's Blog...with a smile!

A glimmer of hope for Mankind!

Last night my wife and I went out to a local eatery.

Nothing fancy.  She paid the bill with our credit card.

WE stopped and got gas ($1.49) and then off to another store.

When she went to pay for the stuff...NO credit card!

She searched her billfold and it was no where to be found.

The receipt for the eatery was there but no card.

So we went back there checked to see if she left it with the cashier.  NOPE.

Not on the ground inside or out.

WE went back at the gas station, she checked inside and I looked where we pumped gas.  NOPE.

Went back to the store and the same thing NOPE.

Went home, got the mail and then called the card company and stopped the card. (No activity since our transaction.)

Later we were going through the mail and found an envelope with my wife's name on it, sealed, in with the mail.

Opening the envelope was her credit card.  No note as to who it was.  Just a note that they had found it on the ground in the parking lot of the gas station and the time.  We had seen track that were real fresh when we got home.

Someone that we know had to have found the card and brought it to us.  The amount of time that had elapsed was 13 minutes.  Not much time to look up the name and find the address and directions.

The only clue we have as to who it was is the direction the car left our driveway.

Sometimes, mankind does raise it's GOOD head.

Within all, no exceptions, is the ability and the proclivity to do good. Case in point and a good share here. I can easily imagine the mindset of this person and the deep contentment from doing the right thing. Oh that this catches on......

William, oh that sinking feeling when we cannot find our credit card. It's a race to the phone to call and report it lost/stolen. Someone cares about you and is a good humanitarian.  Amen for that.
