If you are doing home repairs do them right...

Doing home repairs right isn't just because it is the right thing to do..

No, there also could be a safety concern.

Not attaching the deck to the house properly.

Cleaning your own furnace without first hand training.

These are just two example of accidents I have heard of in the last month.

Both times people got hurt and it could have been worse.

DIY is great...If you know how.

Don't risk life and limb to save a few dollars.  You could be sorry later

Not to mention many times it looks like they didn't know what they were doing. This usually doesn't pass the buyer's inspection.

William Feela,  There are some things that a homeowner should not try to do on his own, but should call a professional.

Hi William.  Being penny wise and dollar foolish with your safety is crazy.

Good Morning William Feela

I am not "handy" and most times after I have attempted a home repair I wind up calling the professional.

I do everything in my power to get the buyers and sellers to agree on a dollar figure in place of repairs.

There are some things that DIY projects just don't make sense. Electrical, plumbing come to mind. It's just not worth injuring ones self or creating a safety hazard that may hurt others.

To many people try and save a buck and pay hundreds because of it

That is the best tip of the day, William!  There is nothing worse than trying to sell a home that has an accumulation of shoddy DIY repairs and projects.

Unless someone has been actually working in the field, being Uncle Bob just won't get it done
