William's Blog...with a smile!

The weight doesn't come off.

Most full time bloggers know Roger Mucci.

He has been posting his weight lose for some time now.

After his surgery would have been a good time to gain weight.

I give

Roger a lot of credit.  Losing is not easy.

For me this is how it is...

I have been on a diet for 2 weeks...

and  all I lost was 14 days!!!!!

William, I hear you.  I've been working on it for a month now.  Very little progress, though the last week there has been a little progress.

My wife, who has never had a weight issue and has never been a big eater, started gaining weight and unable to take it off about a decade ago.  To make a long story short, we switched doctor's and the new one (Top doc in our state, internist, and head of internal medicine at one of the top hospitals in our state) has a holistic practice in a nearby town.  He told us that in recent years they've seen a huge increase in the number of people who are suffering from Thyroid disease.  He says no one knows exactly what caused it because there are so many things that have happened at about the same time.  It could be a result of Chernobyl, Cell Phones, GMO's, pesticides or growth hormones in our foods, or a combination of many things.

The short of the story is that he put us on a natural diet.  Whole milk, eggs and meat from grass fed animals;  organic vegetables (Google the Dirty Dozen); SeaSalt; Stevia; lots of fruits and nuts, Olive Oil or Coconut Oil; 10 hours of sleep (more sleep = more energy = more calories burned) and 45 minutes of exercise a day (more than that is good but plan for a minimum of 45.  It's okay to spread it out in shorter intervals).  He also has us on vitamins.  Lots and lots of vitamins.  I take about 40 vitamin capsules everyday and my wife takes 25.  They love us at Vitamin World.  We have bloodwork done every three months to check and adjust our vitamin intake)  My wife also takes thyroid medication, also natural, and kelp for her thyroid.  She finally started losing weight.  14 pounds in the first six months.  Without dieting!  Eating like  she always has! I'm off my high blood pressure medication and my cholestrol is back to normal.

Now that my wife has the confidence to lose weight again she is starting the Whole30 diet.  It much stricter than the diet out doctor suggested.  But it's only 30 days and she wants to take advantage of the time to synergize the weight loss.  I'll let you know how it turns out.

Anyway, see your doctor and have your thyroid checked.  It could be the reason you're having trouble getting and keeping the pounds off.

I agree with Vern, too much fun to be had in this world to lose any days dieting. But I get it, it looks good!!

William - I feel your pain.  I've had diets that ended that way.  One thing to remember however, if you are exercising, especially with weights, you might not lose weight in the beginning, because you are gaining muscle, which they tell me weighs more than fat.  However, if you keep at it, it will come off.
