I dug deeper...Any reason for the land I asked.
Yes, I want to have a horse or two.
OK now we are getting somewhere.
Here is the issue.
Unless you are going to buy all the feed all year long, even 5 acres is barely enough.
A pasture with a good growth of grass will be ok as long as we get rain to keep it watered and growing.
An acre is not enough or the horse to excises.
Even having just one horse on a 5 acre lot with a house and outbuildings when the dead of summer hits you will need to supplement the feeding.
The type of land will play a big role in how much land you will need,
