Is convenience Killing our Young People's jobs?
I hear it more and more that my teen can't find a job.
Some areas have some jobs, but not ones that a teen can work and go to school.
Summer is worse many times.
So, why is this?
In my opinion...
WE get gas and we pay at the pump. (No need for a teen to take your money)
WE go to the grocery store. Use the self checkout. (No need for a teen to take our money)
WE transfer money via Internet in our bank accounts. (No need for anyone to do the transaction for us)
WE go to Amazon and other Internet sites to buy products. (No need for a teen to take our money)
Need I go on. Yes, many of these convenience's also create jobs for other people, but fact still stands that less people are needed to do much of the work as before.
I do not pay at the pump or do self check out. I don't do Internet banking (for several reasons)
I touch products before I buy they. (Good for the small mom and pop stores.)
So, are we killing our young people's jobs. You decide on your own but these jobs also train our teens for the future of living on their own.
A learning experience that you don't find in schools!
