Even Minnesota has insect issues.

When I ask Buyers about a home inspection.  Many say no.

I explain that insect can cause damage you can't see.

I have first hand knowledge of that.

At my cabin, I was residing the screen house we use to get away from the bugs.

I knew we had some ants, it is all sand and perfect for them.

But, when I took the siding off I was very surprised.

Carpenter Ants, and they were not building!

 

I ended up replacing many studs.  I also did  a lot of insect prevention and continue today to do so.

This was damage I could not see...A home inspector knowing what they were looking for may have caught it.
